International Survivors of Suicide Loss Day is an event in which survivors of suicide loss come together to find connection, understanding, and hope through their shared experiences.
On this day we encourage all those that have lost a loved one to suicide to remember:
- Grief takes time. Give yourself grace and patience; even if its been years, there is no limit on how long you should grieve your loss
- Grief looks different. Do not compare your response, feelings, or needs to others
- It is not your fault. Many survivors report feeling blame or guilt, you cannot control another person’s actions.
- You are not alone. There are national and local resources available for you, if you are in crisis please call or text 988 or text TALK to 741741.
